Frequently Asked Question 

 

 

Q1. How does it work?

Answer: The delivery is a combination of online and offline

mode of study. However, both are E-Learning and

by this, I mean, you study from your computer

(laptop or desktop). You get access to all the videos

(over 30 hours) covering everything on IFRS and IAS in

operation in Nigeria. Secondly, you get daily notification

for the online exercises for 5days each week for 3 weeks.

On Saturdays and Sundays, you get to attend the online live

classes where you meet with our experienced facilitators.

 

Q2. How do I get ICAN Credit Hours?

Answer: Once you register, you will be sent an opt-in page

via email. It will capture your name, phone number,

membership number, membership status and

Name of employer. With this information, it serve

as evident that you are registered for the program.

You also register to take each exercises.

ICAN will then issue you your MCPE credit hours after

the programme.

 

Q3.How many MCPE credit hours am I getting?

Answer: This is not known in advance. This is determined by ICAN

after the event. But in all, you would have gone

through more than 42 hours of training over the 3-week period.

 

Q4. Why are you closing the entry on the 8th June?

Answer: Like I said in my earlier mail, this programme will

start on the 9th June to 29th June 2014. So we need to make

preparation and some house keeping. So time is of

essence, so you need to register on time to avoid the

last minute rush. We also need to make adequate

provision in term of infrastructure to accommodate the

large number of participants we are expecting.

 

Q5.You said that we will have live online classes with

our facilitators, please explain?

Answer: Okey! We have been using this platform for our ICAN,

CITN and other professional exams. In this platform,

we are using an additional feature where you will be

able to raise your hand in the online class to ask

question(s). We will turn on the microphone to you to

ask your question(s) when its your turn to ask. You ask

your question, and everyone will listen to you. When

you are done, the facilitator takes over the mic and answer

your question(s).

 

Q6. What do I need to attend the online classes?

Answer: You will need Internet connection, mouth and ear piece

(just like the one used by customer service reps)

Picture of sample will be sent to you after you register.

You will only need this if you want to ask question using

the voice option. However, if you don’t have one,

then you can type in your question(s) in text, and we will be

able to pick it up real time online and answer you on during the classes.

 

Q7. Why is the duration 3 weeks?

Answer: Okey! 9th, 10th, 11th 12th 13th of June are

5 days of Monday to Friday. Here, you will go

through some set of videos each day. You will

get email from us stating which video each day and

the link to our website where you will do your exercises

based on the videos for that day. This will run from

Monday to Friday. At the end of the week i.e. on

Saturday and Sunday by 12 – 2pm, our facilitators

will be online for the Q&A session. The Q&A will

address the topics covered over the previous 5 days in

the videos and online exercises. Your own copy of the

exercises with the solutions are delivered to your email

immediately you submit.This pattern will run for

3 weeks until all the IFRS and IAS are covered.

 

Q8. Is there a specific time for me to do the online

exercises for each day?

Answer: No. This is the beauty of the E-Learning programme.

You will choose a convenient time that is suitable for

you each day. It is advisable that you do not pile up

the work as this will be burdensome for you and may

make you to lag behind.

 

Q9. What is the download version all about?

Answer: Here, if you want to access the videos immediately,

then you can download them and start going through them.

 

Q10. How will ICAN verify if the programme actually ran?

Answer: Yes. this is a very good question. ICAN has put in place

the mechanism to monitor the programme from day 1 to

day 21. This is the very reason why the class registration

closes on the 8th June 2014.
